Unique Wedding Ideas

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Question: I am a wedding planner that coordinates several weddings a month. My brides are always looking for new and original ideas to make their big day extra special. Any suggestions? Thanks, Stephanie

Answer: That’s a great question, especially since we’re in the middle of the peak wedding season! Absorbent, Ink. carries items for every budget and every theme, including great alternatives to the traditional standbys. Looking for something a little more upscale than the usual Beverage, Luncheon, and Dinner Napkins? We offer super-soft Almost Linen Napkins that look and feel more like hand towels.

When it comes to drinkware, we offer several sizes of the standard Plastic Cups. If your bride wants something formal, we recommend any of our glasses such as the popular 5.75 Napa Champagne Flute. The couples’ names or monogram can be printed on any of the glasses in their wedding colors or in silver to create an etched effect. And for any of those fun-loving, modern brides out there, we offer Light-Up Drinkware that will turn the dance floor into a night-club!

Most guests expect to receive favors when they attend weddings, so how can brides surprise them? Simple! Put a photo of the couple on one of our Short Bread Cookies or onto the wrapper of our Eros Chocolate Bars. Another great idea is to include one of our Small Aromatherapy Candles at each place setting so that the favor doubles as decoration. Planning a destination wedding? Order the Plastic Luggage Tags with Full Color Imprint and include a photo of the destination or the bride and groom. Of course, we also carry popular favors such as individually wrapped Wedding Mints, Foiled Chocolate Hearts, Wedding Matchboxes, and Wine Stoppers.

For more ideas or for help with pricing, please contact our Client Service Department at 866-618-3471. Our team of promotional product experts would love to help make your wedding a success!

Encourage student sign-up during orientation

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Question: The Career Center wants to encourage new students to register for information on internships, job opportunities and career fairs. How do we inform students about this service?

Answer: A great way to reach new students is during orientation. Coordinate with orientation administrators to set up a booth or work shop for students to attend. Hand out fun, yet practical items to students who register for the program. Products such as ice scrapers, mouse pads or lanyards imprinted with the career center’s contact information serve as reminders for students to utilize the services.

I need help planning my office party!

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Hello. I am planning a holiday party for my office this year. I want to give attendees gifts for the occasion. Do you have any suggestions? Also, what could I do to promote the party? I do not know if I should make it holiday neutral or not. Thanks, Olive

Hello Olive,

Thanks for your question! Ah, the holiday party season. Fun, yet a bit stressful when you do not know what to give your em
ployees and when you want to remain PC. I do, however, have a few suggestions that can help you in your planning process.

I will start by giving you suggestions about how to decide on a party theme. It is difficult to convey an all encompassing holiday theme with so many religious celebrations in one season. To avoid hurting any feelings or annoying anyone, you can go one to two ways:

Gifts that keep on giving

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Hi there! I own a small business and would like to give my employees a holiday gift to show them how much I appreciate their work. Do you have any unique ideas? Thanks – Bobby

Hello Bobby,

Thanks for the question! It is difficult to think of unique gifts to give all your employees. Luckily, I have some ideas that will help initiate the gift giving thought process.

I want to first ask you what kind of business you own. If it is an internet company, you could give employees a new optical mouse for their computer with a personalized mouse pad. If you own a small restaurant, you could give employees imprinted cookware or glassware to use at home or at work. You do not have to give employees gifts that are themed around your business, but gifts like this are guaranteed to be used.

Gifts for a baby shower

Friday, September 21st, 2007

I have been looking all over for pencils for a baby shower. I would even like them engraved if it’s at all possible. I am giving a baby shower with a few games and i thought it would be a cute keepsake that people could use after. I can’t find anything like this anywhere, can you give me any suggestions?

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your question! I, of all people, understand how difficult it is to plan any event. With careful planning and my expertise, however, success is not far! Let me begin by answering your initial question.

Absorbent, Ink. has a vast array of pencils. All of them can be imprinted with, “It’s a boy,” or, “It’s a girl,” if you know the sex of the baby. If not, imprint a personalized message congratulating the mother. Most of our pencils are either screen printed or silkscreened. There are, however, other printing options available depending on what type of pencil you would like to use.

Just in case you do not see any pencils that strike your fancy, here are a few unique product ideas.

Hotel in need of anniversary giveaways

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Abby InkDear Abby, Couples Negril is a 234 room hotel. Each year we celebrate our anniversary, and give our guests a gift to commemorate the occasion. I need ideas of gifts that could be personalized with our logo. Please help!

Hi Jacqueline, Thanks for the question! Anniversaries are always fun events to promote. Here at Absorbent, Ink., we have a variety of promotional products that will please your guests and make them want to come back.

A simple and traditional gift to give is a box of chocolates. Make this gift a bit more unique by giving guests a box of truffles. A nine piece box is perfect to give to guests because there are enough chocolates for all guests in the room.

Ask Abby Ink - 10th Year Anniversary Promotion

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Abby InkHeather asked: My husband is a dentist and this year marks the practice’s 10th anniversary. We are looking for a unique way to promote our business. Something we can advertise/promote to draw new patients, thank our current patients, etc. A huge anniversary party would be great, but the budget won’t allow for that. Any ideas? I am not familiar with blogs, so if you could email me I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Heather,

Thanks for the question! Of course I have some innovative gift ideas for you! Let’s see. You say your husband is a dentist, so you probably already have dental hygiene products with the practice name. Without knowing the exact budget you are working with, I can give you a wide range of ideas. I’ll give you some simple thoughts for a start and save my crazy proposal for last.

The first item you can order will be enjoyed by both new and existing patients. You can purchase a stress ball in the shape of a tooth or toothpaste container with your choice of color and font with something funny like, “Don’t get stressed about visiting the dentist.” Silly, but different and fun! We have multiple products that would be perfect to give your husband’s hard-working employees at the office. If you are thinking of holding a small get together, you could give them the glass that their beverage comes in. Here at AbInk, we have a variety of elegant glassware, such as Champaign flutes and wine and martini glasses or classy drink ware, such as mugs and cups that we can print the dental practice’s name on.

Ok, I warned you about the craziness. To promote the dental practice to new patients, you could send them an item out of our unique promotional products section. Our green tea sampler is simple and stylish, but you could catch a person’s eye by printing a promotional slogan on it, like, “Enjoy the tea and come in for 20% off bleaching!” I know, I know. It’s a little out there, BUT, I am relatively certain that I have never seen that promotion done before.

If none of these ideas work for you or you would like to hear more, go ahead and call 866-618-3471 to talk to client services. We have more products we can tell you about! We can also discuss the number of items, the color and font size you would like. Feel free to write anytime! I just love enlightening everyone with my ideas.

Thanks!
